"A bear’s nose is very sensitive and their livelihood depends upon it.  This piece is basically a portrait of that trait along with some indication of why in the piece.  For a couple of seasons, I’ve observed black bears rummaging the berry laden hillsides of Glacier National Park.  We were there looking for mountain goats, but when you’re out in the wild, you just never know what else you might come across."
