"When the leaves of autumn move on to eventually become soil, most trees and plants lose their intensity of color. This is not the case with the willow. The willow trees can be seen across our valley here, near Bozeman, taking on colors that are reminiscent of fall. But the willow flats in front of Mount Moran, north of Jackson, WY, take on some intense reds that become slightly purple as they recede into the distance. It's the perfect setting to work the dark-valued moose into, in hopes of providing a pleasing color harmony."
