- "Cats really have an amazing look to their faces when they’re locked onto something visually. They give a whole new meaning to the word focused. Every part of their body gets ready, anticipating what is about to happen and they almost can’t contain themselves. I hope I’ve conveyed those emotions of anticipation and excitement here with this piece. The negative space of the blue sky helped to enhance the shape of the cougar, which is what gives you the feeling of built-up anticipation. The rocks are pointing forward to give movement to the piece as well as the junipers behind the cougar. It’s really about kinetic energy."
